One of the campaigns that
Blackheath and Greenwich Amnesty are working on currently is about Cuban
Prisoners of Conscience.
In March 2003, 75 human
rights’ activists were arrested on a variety of charges; all were
sentenced to prison in trials within twenty days of their arrest. Amnesty International
calls on the Cuban authorities to immediately release the 58 dissidents still
being held in jails across the country.
